About 1000 sea turtles are killed by eating plastic waste every year. There are only seven species of sea turtle in the world, two species are critically endangered, and all other five species are classified as endangered and vulnerable.
Plastic bags and packaging account for almost half of the 380 million tons of plastic produced every year. The average useful life span of a plastic bag is about 12min. Only 9% of plastic is recycled!
